Not You

Not You

Some time ago when I was young I met a girl so very sweet.
We’d sing and play and horse around. It wasn’t hard to fall in love.
With years gone by I find myself looking at you…
But the blue eyes from my memories are not the ones I see.

I don’t know where we went astray,
I don’t know why I’m here today,
stuck without the perfect girl from yesterday.

Doing good is in my blood
but I never saw this in my HuD.
I’d take it all back if I could,
I’d condemn the ones I know simply for you.

Sometime ago there was a song, lullaby, of your deceit.
You swore a life of love and companionship that you never intended to keep,
But now we’re both stuck in this life each without half a heart.
If I could only turn back time I’d leave you to live your life alone.

I don’t know where we went astray,
I don’t know why I’m here today,
stuck without the perfect girl from yesterday.

Doing good is in my blood
but I never saw this in my HuD.
I’d take it all back if I could
I’d condemn the ones I know,
condemn the one’s I’ve seen,
I would end the world for you…
